Once upon a time
there was a man
I met him on the road
the sun just went down
it was a creepy and wonderful twilight
and everything was black and white.

There was no body
just me
and a man in striped shirt
walking on the road
wearing black top hat
and black trousers.

Maybe they were black
just because everything was black
or white
but it doesn't matter.

I stood there and stare
and he didn't see me
he was like blind man
just walking around
like a ghost
with a smile on his pale face
singing a quiet song of his mind.

There was nothing
maybe not even us
in the middle of emptiness
at world's end
there was wonderland
of black and white.

He walked towards me
like I wasn't there
gave me a far away smile
but I saw a tear on his cheek
dry and black like the trousers and hat
in pure white skin incised.

My arm popped up
my hand touched the tear
touched the curse
touched the grief
and in that very moment
with unchanging smile
everything dissapeared.
I don't read literature here on deviantart, or just not very often, so I never intend to submit any text. But lets say I was persuaded to share some of my literature creations. So?

This (I have a prooblem with calling it a 'poem', I really have no idea why) was inspired by the photo of amazing and beloved Heath Ledger, great actor and artist, as well as great person. I feel a bit ashamed that I noticed him quite late, but though I'm glad I did, I really am. An this is a kind of tribute.

Geez, I wonder who persuaded you.

Only thing, I wouldn't open with "Once upon a time." It's just kind of... unoriginal. But its a good tribute to a good man. I have to go watch The Dark Knight now...

That's true... although I think even unoriginality may have its meaning...

But thanks for opinions, I appreciate your advice!

Dark Knight sound good, really good. Joker is kind of my hero :D Talking about movies and Heath, have you seen Imaginarium? I've just booked the tickets for saturday and it makes me happy, because I've been waiting for it quite long time

I guess it can, rarely. But not here. Mainly cuase Heath Ledger was too awesome for unoriginality.

I haven't seen Imaginarium. I don't know what its about, really. I just know it has Heath Ledger, so he'll probably win some more grammies, and maybe an after-life acheviment award.

Oh you're right, as always.

It's something very creative, spectacular, phantasmagoric and british, which means something for me. It's directed by ex-python Terry Gilliam. Actually I can't wait to see it since I read a quite long article about Heath in UK Vanity Vair and that happend in August. I'm curious, hope 'my people' won't dissapoint.

Oh, its a British film. Now I have to go see it. Being made by an ex-Python helps, too.

I've seen it! If somebody said me in august I would see Imaginarium on my birthday, I wouldn't believe, but 'all good things come to those who can wait'. And Imaginarium definitely is a good thing, at least for me. Wonderful, visually absolutely amazing. But it's not only about the visual stuff, it has a meaning, something to say.

Wow, I don't even know what it's about! I just know that it was Heath Ledger. Is it a comedy, action, something serious?

I think it would need a special category. Well it's a kind of mysterious or fantasy, but basically it takes place in today London. Doctor Parnassus is immortal, because he once he's made a bargain with Mr. Nick. Mr. Nick is supposed to represent a kind of devil, but I wouldn't say he's that bad, he just like betting. Parnassus has a daughter and they are travelling with a show, with Imaginarium. It's like road show, they have their stage and stuff like that. They don't have cars, they use horses. And the contrast between Imaginarium and its world and between usual London is great. Plot is that the daughter should leave her father and go with Mr. Nick at the age of 16, it's part of the bargain. So they are trying to spare her from this, what makes it also adventurous.
